Hi
I started skating seriously at 16, before then I was just pushing up and down the block. I've skated a variety of boards from regular street decks, to huge boards from the 80's, to flatland boards. I started with street skating, but I never aquired many flip tricks, but I liked olling over everything I could, like small TVs, etc. At one point I really liked doing old school tricks like bonelesses. 180 boneless grinds were cool. Oh yeah, people used to call me the Legend of Manuals. My longest manual was a shopping center parking lot. I could ollie manual consequtive platforms quite easily. My nose manuals were ok. Around this time I also got into street BMX riding, bunny hopping gaps and stuff. I used to go to FDR a lot and skate/ride the concrete park but I never got too crazy there. Never got good at vert either. Eventually I started doing flatland skateboarding and BMX simultanously. I had a lot of flatland skating tricks, but not as many flatland BMX tricks although I found it more fun. Eventually due to the extreme stress I put my bike through it broke.
Those were the days...
Then I guess It just kinda fizzled out. I couldn't recapture what I had as a kid. I still skate flatland every now and then, but it just isn't as much fun as it used to be. Recently I've been thinking about getting a new flatland specific bike.
I see you're in Philly, where do you skate? I heard they rebuilt the skate park under the bridge at Columbus Boulevard. _________________
