Hey everyone!

I've been pondering on love thoughts lately...and no I'm not in love. Rolling Eyes Very Happy
Who here want's to get married one day or already is married? What is your ideal marriage relationship/partner like?

Where would be your ideal place to honeymoon?

I will go first. Wink
I do indeed want to experience a marriage relationship one day. My ideal partner would be a mirror of my own soul. He will be eccentric, unique, cre8ive,ambitious,a serious lover of music and hopefully a HORROR MOVIE FANATIC,thrives on knowledge, love to travel, love to laugh until it hurts, be spiritual but not necessarily religious, have good hygiene, make my yoni feel good and know how to eat a mean cat.

Ideal place to honeymoon? Well, I'm kind of a sap that believe whereever we are it can be a good time and we can get it poppin! But just to support my own thread I will name some places.

1)Africa
2)Paris
3)Brazil
4)Vegas
5)Mexico
6)Bahamas
7)Someplace exotic
8)Lock ourselves in a hotel and bang each others brains out
9)London
10)Venezuela

i have no desire to get married...

whats ideal for me is to go out like Mulder and Scully, having "my perfect opposite" but still having enough in common where there's a connection that runs deeper than deep.

touchy subject for me, i guess Confused

Wow, this is a tough one. Confused
Having a permanent significant other has always been one of my ultimate concerns because from childhood I'd heard/felt all of this positive noise about marriage. My parents (and both sets of grandparents, though they have passed on.) are probably the only people I know their age who is still on their first marriage (or married at all). However I have been through some serious relationships that didn't work out. So I still value marriage, but I can't be sure whether it is something I should do.

I don't think I'd still say that my ideal woman should be that much like me--I mean commonalities are great, but the thing is I don't want that kind of vibe to become divisive. I am a poet and musician and I would always want my woman to respect that; but these are things which take lots of free time. Maybe this sounds selfish, but if I'm an artist, my time spent would be enough. I'd hate for both of us to be spending 7-8 hours per week creating...by the time you figure in employment hours, you'd have to wonder where quality time would come in.

I'd like to get married, make some babies, do the whole family man thing someday. It's something I really look forward to happening.
First thing though, I'm getting myself together - i.e. having my own place, a career, ect.
Still working on the most important part - i.e. finding somebody to be with on that level.
A regular relationship is work but, when something is worth it - I don't mind the effort.
The romantic ideas about being all happy are there but, I recognize that there's more to it.
But yeah... it's definately something I want in my life

I think about getting married sometimes, but it is always in a daydreaming sense. The failure rate on marriages seems to be about 50% at best. Would you use a birth control that had a 50% failure rate?

yes I would like to get married one day and have a bunch of babies. I like kids. But not THAT many kids. I'm a hopeless romantic and I've yet to have my heart broken too badly so I'm still all sappy and stuff.
I would like to be married in a church. A big ass wedding with a huge white dress that I designed. I would want a live band at the reception with good food. The band will be playing danceable music of all kinds. I would like it to be a laid back reception though where it's fun. I don't still want to be wearing that dress cuz you can't dance! haha.
I f not a church then on the beach
I would like to go on a honeymoon to Hawai'i, Africa, Spain Or brazil. SOmewhere pretty and tropical. With a beautiful view that I've never been before

I have my standard politically-correct answer to this question that I will SPARE you (and you'll thank me later, I swears). In fact, I got into it the other night with a friend over this very question and he totally was not trying to hear my answer; nor was I trying to hear his.

While I have no desire to bring legality into anything, I would like to exchange rings with someone and be married in the spiritual sense. I want a huge tacky wedding, too; with the prettiest dress and the prettiest cake and a train twice the length of Star Jones'. Surprised

I ain't signin' no damn license, though. Confused

Having been married and now divorced, I don't really care about marriage. But I'm all for having a happy and healthy relationship. However, I don't believe you need the pomp, circumstance, stigma of breakup, and legal mumbo jumbo of marriage to have one. I know two unmarried couples--one about 23 years-and they're at the very least compatible and another one about 19 years and they're still happy and compatible.

If the relationship is a good fit without marriage, why add the pressure and expectations of legal matrimony to screw with your happeiness?

I'm down for marriage but I would like to to be married to someone who wanted me for more than just what I have or don't have. Hate to say it but a man takes a "L" when it comes to property and custody of children when there's a divorce and most of the women I've talked to are all romantic until you start talking about a prenuptial agreement. You will never ever hear a woman no matter how educated or liberal she is advocate for true no fault divorce that does not force the more financially well to do partner to pay alimony. Sad but true. I really don't want that hanging over my head.
